Begging in news

Begging is in news! DNA reports Beggars learn to be choosers in Bihar. The news is about beggers forming a union in Bihar and fixing minimum wages. DNA considers this news worthy of putting in its newspaper. But wait. If begging is really an issue there are bigger begging scandals that are happening under media's eyes and it is not finding it worth investigating or reporting.

If any of you have been in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, you must not have missed the beggers. They come in all shape and sizes. Almost all have ghastly amputated body parts. If you observe carefully, you will notice that the missing body parts are not a result of some accident but a precision surgery. It's not an exaggeration. No accident can result in such meticulous and proportionate cuts. Observe carefully and you might notice a multi-crore scam into this. It's a racket; yet not a single media house is ready to seriously take up this issue, investigate it, and expose the people behind it. I just want to ask - WHY?

Begging is a curse. Instead of making it a masala item media should proactively focus on exposing the monstrous face behind it.

I hope junta agrees. Right?
