Two items from IBN-Live; same context but contradicting opinion

When will these media guys and gals will learn how to practice responsible and objective journalism? This is what I wondered after reading this news item. Very tragic to irresponsibily name Bihar for a kidnapping done in Noida, UP. By what logic they named Bihar in this case is still beyond my comprehension, except the obvious culprit called "stereotyping". The article says, Criminals have politicised themselves, they have got elected as MPs and MLAs and hold high public offices, so there is no deterrent for them and the police get demoralised for they are effectively breaking down the criminal justice system in UP and Bihar - especially as trials take 15 to 20 years to conclude. Now contrast this with another article in this context, Bihar cracks down on kidnappings, published in IBN-Live (same website that posted the news item mentioned above). It says, But Inspector General, Bihar Police, Anil Sinha says the number of kidnappings has come down and the reasons are "the use of technology and speedy trials which have created a good deterrent affect. Over 5,000 criminals have been convicted. There is pro-active policing also". ..."Political mandate is very simple. We are told that we should work without fear and favour and that has percolated down," Sinha says. Let the junta decide what to make out of journalist who indulge in senseless, factless, stupid journalism.
