Do we look abroad for balanced journalism?

This is the pious evening of the araghya to Sun on the occasion of Chhath and I find this wonderful piece from Singapore : Spirit of Bihar

Makes me wonder if we would have to look abroad for positive news on Bihar to provide the much needed balance?

Mismanaged airports of India and Bihar - fathom this

What is common between the mismanagement of the airports of India and Bihar / Jharkhand?

Dont tax your brain too much on this teaser, it only exists in the moronic mind of a particularly boorish sample of a journalist.

Read this gem in Business Standard. I am sure if he were to write an article on the extinction of dinosaurs, he would find a way to blame it on Bihar.

Or maybe people from Bihar should thank him for raising them to the status of God for only HE is remembered with such regularity in the face of failures.

Has Rajdeep lost it?

Time was when Rajdeep Sardesai alongwith his other colleagues at NDTV were considered the new face of journalism. However, he now appears a pale shadow of himself, more interested to propagate his agenda than to provide unbiased news.

Even before ink has dried on his infamous Maharashtra: The New Bihar article which was uniformally condemned by one and all for using Bihar as an epithet, we now have not one but two news items on Bihar whose sole purpose is to denigrate the state.

400 infants die in Bihar everyday and
Bihar DIGs test positive for HIV

One would like to give Rajdeep and his channel the benefit of doubt, but the language and tenor of the articles leave little doubt about the intent - to demonise Bihar. Particularly galling is the HIV article, where, bypassing all norms of journalism, the article makes public the health details of the police officials. And what is the need to have Bihar in the headline itself? Does being from Bihar make the police officials test HIV positive? Or is it a medical condition that can happen due to a variety of reasons?

Would Rajdeep and his cohorts have the guts to have headlines for similar unfortunate news from the 'advanced' states like "3 farmers commit suicide in Maharashtra everyday" or "Delhi police officers in spy ring of Pakistan" ? Clearly, the cup of hate for Bihar brimmeth over.
