Hate Bihar/UP campaign by Mumbai University
We just celebrated our 60th year of independence with great pride but we continue ignore the unfair and highly discriminatory treatment which is given to Biharies in their own country .The recent move of Mumbai University to set up special counter for examining the mark sheets of students from Bihar and UP is just another example how these institutions of learning are promoting a culture of hate and discrimination. Our politicians gave reservations which created numerous divisions in the society and now an institution like Mumbai University openly announced that they receive maximum number of fake certificates from Bihar and UP. The Hate Bihar campaign has taken a new turn and this open declaration and discriminatory act of Mumbai University without any data and statistics needs to be condemned in harshest words. It’s deplorable and demeans the achievement of thousands of diligent and meritorious students from Bihar and UP who have proved their mettle in National and International level competitions. |

If such things continue.....mark my words...this will lead to very serious consequences in future.
This will happen and happen everywhere till we realize that no our generation is on the verge to either collapse for identity or rebuild it otherwise.
We need to return back and ask our governemnt to help us build the best infrastructures and show the world.
Otherwise we will be reporting daily such news. Mumbai university officialzed this one while Delhi university and Punjab are already practicing this all for past several of years.
It's now moral responsibility for our government to invest money in state. The national mainstream and union government is already always sidelining Bihar, people of India are a step ahead humiliating killing and subjecting us for all enquality..and still we feel Mera Bharat Mahan!
They ahve taken us granted, and our mouth is sealed even in our own country. Better would be if we split away!

It is very sad if Mumbai University is promoting a culture of hate and discrimination. However do you have any source for this? I am not based in Mumbai and do not have access to local papers. Reading the online edition of Times Of India, I see that Mumbai University has unearthed a fake mark sheet scam. It further noted that " Most commonly, students got eligibility certificates after submitting fake marksheets from Magadh University, Bihar, followed by Osmania University, Hyderabad, and Madurai Kamraj University, said a source. "The certificate of Magadh University is handwritten. The printing is nothing more than letter-press printing," he added. "
This leads us to believe that Mumbai University is doing their job and that this is not an institutionalized practice quite contrary to the blog post. The question that we should ask is how best to prevent criminal elements from sabotaging our educational system no matter whether they are from Bihar or Mumbai or Delhi. Unless of course you can back it with a news source that verifies and validates your claim.
This itself shows the level of Mumbai University.Anyway everybody knows the std of education there.I know ar least dozen of cources where there are almost no regular classes.
The buildings are in shambles.Its in mumbai thats the only advantage..otherwise Patna University`s etc used to be better in sometime.

UP, bihari is used as derogatory word in India. It is because majority of people in those place do not respect law and tend to have lesser morales. Violence and goondaism is normal for them. That why those states are in sorry state and they want to go to other states and make it same like goodaism. If they come to maharashtra they should respect rules and laws of the state and not spread their herd tendency goondaism. Also they fake marksheets. They should change their nature before they go to other states.
Fake marksheet is indeed a big reason that has tarnished the Bihari image for long.I suggest that the government of Bihar should acknowledge this as a problem area and should take serious measures to eliminate this nuisance. Examination boards and universities could begin by dematerializing the marksheets and transcripts and use digital signatures for authentication. The examination boards and universities should create a single platform like a single website for this purpose. This measure would help employers and other insititution to do a quick web ref check and would be a one positive step in the directyion of improving the image. Creating a single platform would benefit the advantages of economy of scale. This could be done on a public private partnership basis. This would definitely require government's initiative. I am not aware of such a system elsewhere in India.One would only wish that the the government wakes up fast and sets a precedent for others.
Hate comments above show the extent of bias that is prevalent. It is fake marsheet that is the reason for the bias against Biharis or is it the outstanding success that Biharis enjoy in any field that they choose to get into?
It is sad that even an old institution like Mumbai Univ has to resort to such blatantly inequitable process Shows nothing but their rotten mentality and their inherent bias. Can be compared with Nazis and White Apartheid type of thinking.
Why you people crating so much issue of behar. if mumbai university get fake certificate from Behar and UP. then they must checked certificate for fraudarent activities why there is matter of BEHAR AND UP, if same condition is for Maharashtra and Delhi they do same thing. they luanch special counter for proper veryfication of cert. why people like you entertaning such topic much more
BIHAR is a place where all corrupt people stay. They do all sorts of illegal things. Now we all know that it is not uncomman for biharis to make fake certificates. We are just trying to verify and eliminates those biharis from our institutions who have fake certificates. Now with this system in place, most of the biharis will be turned down, because most of them have fake certificates. That is what these guys are concerned about.
What will the poor bihairs do now. All they have is a fake certificate, and Mumbai University will not allow these guys from Bihar having fake certificates to study in Mumbai University.

I am a north indian myself-a Chaturvedi/Choubey and therefore i am extremely enraged with what the thackerays are doing- that's the initial instinctual reaction but i have to admit that Raj does have a few genuine points, no doubt about that.
If you look around, you see that biharis and upeites are hated or looked down upon by almost the entire India; there are reasons for it, we need to closely examine them ourselves. But instead of doing that, we are just content to blame/hate people/politicians and communities who derogate us!!
Of course the way Raj Thackeray highlights these issues is lunatic but it might be a natural reaction to the lunacy that prevails in our states like up, bihar, jharkand etc.

I dont know where from the author belongs to, but I guess he is not from Bihar..had he been then he could have imagined what Bihar is...it is the feudal heartland of India...it is the synonym to corruption, injustice, nepotism, casteism, and whatever you can think of (I guess I would end up with a long script otherwise).
I am myself from Bihar (though not a Bihari) and till todate I have never mentioned my original statehood anywhere outside. It is such a shame.
I can just write a 10000...page book on this topic, but I think it would be useless..To change Bihar first you have to shun Bihari culture and mindset...

Looking at the corruption level of India, i think everybody should clearly understand the motive of these politicians. For politicians like Raj Thackeray, it doesn't matter whether you are a marathi or bihari. The only things which matter is " are you going to vote for him". They are using simple strategy - "Divide and Rule". I think i except atleast from all our literate indians to think before they follow Raj thackeray. If things like this continues then it would be soon when we can see some new countries in our world map like UP,Bihar, maharashtra, Gujrat........etc - all this because of some greedy politicians

We all know UP and Bihar stand out for their corruption,injustice,extortion,rape cases and unwanted egoism about there rich culture....please atleast respect the land which is giving u opportunity to bring in sucess like Maharastra where people are accepting u....Nothing against any community or states but we need to accept our mistakes....recent scenario in UP specially for girls are horrifying...atleast Bihar is coming up thanks to Nitish Kumar...Guys please every state has problem but just coz ur state is being criticised dont behave like kids and start talking wrong things about any language...Language is greater than all our egos and pride...blame a person not d community....As far as MU what is doing is right but need to apply to all candidate not just frm one state...
